A lifelong crafter, Brett is obsessed with all things DIY. She blogs at brettbara.com about all her creative pursuits, from DIY-decorating her Brooklyn apartment to her adventures in knitting, sewing and baking–and lots of pictures of her cat, Fifi. Brett is the author of Sewing in a Straight Line (Potter Craft, 2011), the host of the Emmy-nominated PBS television series Knit and Crochet Now, and a DIY contributor to Design Sponge. She began her career in magazine publishing where she worked for over ten years as a writer and editor, finally serving as the founding Editor in Chief of Crochet Today.

These days Brett is an independent designer, author, on-camera crafts expert and creative consultant. It is her personal mission to convince each and every person on earth that crafting is the best thing ever. By founding Brooklyn Craft Camp, she is one step closer to her goal.

Brett isn’t teaching any classes at Brooklyn Craft Camp, but as the event founder, she wanted to be here on the team page! She’ll be there all day and will most likely crash your class to sneak a little crafting in!
